  • Several years ago I married my wife Doreen and three horses. It did not take me long to figure out the horses were part of the deal and I soon found myself with a team of draft horses that eat a large amount of hay.
  • We started plowing the driveway, working the garden, and pulling firewood out of the neighbor’s woodlot.  This led to people stopping to ask questions and they seemed to have an interest in having their land logged with horses.
  • I received a degree in college in Park and Rec. management with many classes on forestry.
  • The forestry came in handy when one contract led to three.  Soon I had more work than I knew what to do with.  We now manage about 3000 acres for customers on an on going basis.
  • Horses can increase residual production by as much as 30% over mechanical systems because of the lack of damage they cause while pulling logs out.  Fur does not take bark of a tree like steel does.

If you are looking for a long-term investment in your forest, we are the surgeons in the forest.
